Meet Allison Guerra — Counselor
Why I love St. John School?
I love St. John’s because everyone is so friendly and supportive. The school community is welcoming and helpful and I truly feel privileged that I get to be a part of it. In addition, being able to incorporate my faith into the guidance curriculum is a blessing, and I look forward to coming to work each day.
My favorite part of teaching?
My favorite thing about being a school counselor is getting to build relationships with the students and staff. Our position is unique in that we truly have the potential to influence every person in our school. I love getting to know my students and having the opportunity to support them by helping them learn the social emotional skills they need to be successful. I also love being a part of helping other educators meet the needs of their students. It is so fun to have such a special and unique role within the school!
What I like to do outside of school?
Outside of school, most of my time is spent with my husband and two sons. As a family, we strive to be outside as much as we can doing the things we love, fishing, camping and boating. When I have the opportunity for some alone time I enjoy practicing yoga, going for walks and wandering around Target!
