Meet Laurel Marchinowski — Band
Why I love St. John School?
I love the supportive and positive staff environment.
My favorite part of teaching?
Taking instrumental beginner musicians and seeing the amazing progress they can achieve in all aspects each year.
What I like to do outside of school?
I am a member of UWFV Concert Band, Valley Flute Club, Vento Winds, Appleton City Band and other groups. I have a small private studio, and I am an active member of my church’s music team. My husband and I live in Neenah, and enjoy serious gardening and photography. I have two older sons and a puppy, Piper.
My education
I originated as a parochial school graduate from St. Paul’s Lutheran in Manawa, which has been a special part of my instrumental career. I graduated with a BA and MA from UW-Oshkosh, majoring in Music Education with an emphasis on church organ and flute.
My professional training
I taught band for 40+ years in Menasha Public School district and surrounding systems at all levels. I also have a strong background in Suzuki orchestra studies and play the hammered dulcimer.
