Meet Nicole Long — 1st Grade Teacher
My favorite part of teaching?
I am thrilled to be able to incorporate my faith into my teaching. I grew up in the faith, have studied the Bible extensively, and last summer, I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to attend a study/hiking trip through Israel and Jordan to see the Holy Land. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to bring faith into my students’ learning.
What I like to do outside of school?
Besides teaching, I love to travel! I studied abroad in Spain and traveled all through Europe. Hoping for South America 2021! I also love to read, write, sing and play guitar, and visit with friends and family.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish Education. This past spring, I was a substitute teacher for the Green Bay Area Public School District, teaching in classrooms from grades K-8. During my years in college, I was a camp counselor for Camp Crossways for two summer and was an intern for the education program at the Green Bay Botanical Garden. I have also had a plethora of other jobs, from ride operator at Bay Beach to working in an apple orchard!
