Meet Debbie Hartjes — Finance
Serving St. John Nepomucene since 2014
“My career with St. John Nepomucene began in June 2014. I have been a member of St. John Parish most of my adult life. I am involved with the music ministry which began with King’s Kids and led to my husband and me starting the St. John Folk Choir which is now called the Cornerstone Choir. St. John’s current music director, Jim DeGroot, was our first pianist and was only a sophomore in high school when he started accompanying our choir. I have also been involved in other ministries in the Parish. I served for 20+ years on the Worship and Spiritual Life Committee, was a minister of hospitality, and currently help out as a Communion Distributor and Mass Server when needed. I truly enjoy working at St. John Parish and especially working with such a fantastic team.”
I graduated from Wrightstown High School and went on to earn my Associate Degree in Accounting from Fox Valley Technical College. I have taken many additional classes to keep up with the trending world of accounting.
I was employed in the Financial Services and Human Resources Departments at Fox Valley Technical College for 38 years until my retirement in 2014.
I was married to an amazing man, Steve Hartjes from June 1977 until his death in October 2011. I have 3 fantastic children, Mike (Jessie), Nikki (Dylan), and Rachel (Joe), who have blessed me with 8 adorable grandchildren.
I enjoy swimming, music, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
