Green Bay Diocesan CCW – Marian Day 2024
The Green Bay Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will be welcoming back Marian Day this year. Marian Day will be held at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in New Franken on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The theme this year will be “Mary, Virgin Most Powerful.”
Our guest speaker will be Father Edward Looney, Pastor at Sacred Heart Parish – Shawano, Author, Documentary Host and Podcaster. The day begins at 8:30 AM and a final farewell will be at approximately 3:00 PM. Your day will consist of Mass, May Crowning, reflections of Mary, lunch, Rosary, Benediction and Adoration of the Holy Eucharist.
The cost is $30.00 per person. Deadline for registration is May 13, 2024.

The Church’s feasts and celebrations run on a yearlong cycle, which we call the “liturgical year.” The “liturgical year” starts on the first Sunday of Advent. So it’s a new liturgical year when Advent starts and Advent is a slightly different length each year.
It starts four Sundays before Christmas, but because Christmas is on a fixed date, and could fall on different days of the week; Advent can be as short as three weeks and a day (like it is this year), or as long as four weeks.

Barb Kimme Memorial Traveling Rosary for Vocations: All men and women young and old, are invited to help us pray for our Diocese and an increase in vocations. According to the Vocation Ministry Analysis from 2015-2021, the state of priestly vocations in our Green Bay Diocese meets 3 criteria to be considered as “unhealthy”.
To help raise an awareness and assist in rectifying this situation, we the GB Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, have decided our best course of action is prayer to our Lord. We are sponsoring a sort of 9-month novena for vocations. We will gather at 9 different churches every 2nd Wednesday of the month from March – November. The agenda includes song, prayer, speaker and reception. Our eighth date and location is:

Short Description: One of Champion Shrine’s most time-honored traditions is to have a large celebration honoring the Assumption of the Blessed Mother! Join thousands of pilgrims as they come to the Shrine to worship Jesus and honor His mother. Mass begins at 11 am with a large Eucharistic Rosary Procession to follow it.
