Attention Current and Interested Ambassadors

The Connection Committee at St. John Nepomucene is having a “refresher” training session. Whether you have been an ambassador before, are willing to try or just interested in more information; please consider joining us on October 18th after the 10:00 a.m. Mass in the Fellowship Hall.

What is an ambassador? We are another layer between the door greeters and the church ushers. Our goal is for all parishioners to be greeted several times as they enter into our church. This is not scheduled. Come when you can, as often as you can!

It will be low key and informational! Just bring your smile (behind your mask) and feel free to bring a friend along!

Thank You for the Masks

Hello parish mask suppliers:

We wish to thank you for the generous donations of masks you have provided to St. John Nepomucene during this time of the COVID virus. Please know how grateful we have been, and continue to be, for this much-needed gift. The masks are being used at all of our Masses!

Some of you have donated several different amounts of masks of different sizes, shapes, styles and colors. Some of you have donated financially for the disposable masks. It is wonderful to see our parishioners pull together for a common cause in these difficult times! May God bless all of you for your generosity.

We continue to pray for the safety of all of our families.

In Christ,

Deacon Bruce Corey
Pastoral Associate

Service Project for Pillars – Help Needed

Do you have a group (family, card, bowling, etc.) that is looking for a service project?

We are looking for those people to fill a March, June, September and December time slot. Our parish serves a meal on the third Wednesday of the month at Pillars (located at 400 North Division Street in Appleton) from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A group of five (5) people work nicely.

At this time because of COVID-19, you can choose to go to Pillars and prepare and serve a meal provided by Pillars. Or another choice is to prepare and deliver a meal made in your home.

Finally, you may choose to make a monetary donation towards a meal for the third Wednesday.

Training is available! Please contact Toni Ellenbecker at (920) 740-0811 if you have an interest, if you have any questions or would like additional information.Thank you!

Adult and Children Cloth Masks Needed

St. John Nepomucene is in need of more cloth masks for adults and children (nosepiece inserted please, if possible).

If you are able to help with this cause by making some cloth masks for the parish, we would be very grateful for your generosity!

You may provide them to the parish office and if you have any questions, please call: 788-9061.

St. John Home & School – Hometown Christmas Craft Sale Canceled

It is with heavy hearts that St. John Home & School Association has decided to cancel its 2020 Hometown Christmas Craft Sale due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Craft Sale was to be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020. It was to be our 35th year sponsoring this wonderful event.

We hope to make the Hometown Christmas Craft Sale an annual event again in 2021!

We anticipate returning on Sunday, November 7, 2021.

If you have any further questions, please send an email to: homeandschoolsjs@gmail.com.

Face Coverings Required at St. John Nepomucene

Governor Evers released several Executive orders on July 30, 2020; one declaring a Public Health Emergency and another issuing an Emergency Order that requires individuals to wear face coverings when indoors and not in a private residence (with some exceptions as defined in the order).

As such, masks are now required to be worn at St. John Nepomucene when inside the parish facility (including attending Mass), the parish office and the school (please click here).

Please click below to find the press release, in which you will find the links to each of the executive orders, as well as a list of frequently asked questions. This order will go into effect on Saturday, August 1st.

St. John Athletic Association – Hall of Fame Banquet

Hello current Hall of Fame Members. I am writing this letter to inform you that we are going to put our banquet on hold for now. Because of the current situation in the world, I believe it would not be in our best interest to hold the event this year. I am confident that we will be able to hold this event again at some point; so please, keep sending in your new nominations for the Hall of Fame.

Also, please talk to anyone that you know that has any interest in volunteering their time in the St. John Athletic Association. They do not have to have kids at St. John School, just a willingness to volunteer a couple of days out of the year. This group has been around for many years and I would like to see that tradition keep going for many more!

For any questions on current things regarding the St. John Athletic Association, please contact Tim Verhagen. He is the current Athletic Association President.

Thank you for everything you have done for the Athletic Association! Please stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,
Rob Eiting, Hall of Fame Committee Member
