Travel Release Form: New this year! Parents requesting to transport their student to or from an off-campus activity must complete THIS FORM at least 24 hours in advance. Students are expected to ride the bus to and from field trips or off-campus activities, and families will be contacted once their request has been reviewed and approved. Thank you for helping keep our students safe and accounted for.

Athletic Wear Policy: Please see THIS LETTER from Principal Kapinos regarding an update to the Athletic Wear Policy.

Hot Dog Day: Friday, Sept 18. This is a long-standing tradition at SJS. Held once a month, it is a fun dress down day for students. See the Uniform Policy for dress down day guidelines. Participation is optional.

• Cost: Covered by H&S
• Students are offered:

1. Beverage: Water, juice box or milk (Soda is offered to middle schoolers.)
2. Bag of chips, veggie straws or cheez-its
3. Hot dog (2nd hot dog available, no more than 2 hot dogs per student)
4. Dessert (Different each month)

• Allergies: See the dessert ingredients in the image below. Feel free to send a safe option along with your child if they cannot have the dessert offered.
• Pink Slips: SJS alumni will remember the infamous pink slips!  We brought them back a couple of years ago. 20 “pink slips” will be stuffed into hot dogs and passed out at random to the students. If the student opens up their hot dog and sees a pink slip they get to pick a prize. Pink slips will not be in 2nd’s! We are trying to NOT encourage the students to scarf down a hot dog, just to get another one in hopes to get a pink slip.

Middle school students with September birthdays will celebrate with their advisory group (12 people) this Friday, September 18, and may bring a treat to share. A healthy-suggestions flyer went home earlier this week. Contact your child’s advisor with questions. Summer birthdays: check with your child on which month they’ll celebrate.

Field Trip Insurance Form: THIS FORM must be completed and submitted by Friday, September 18 in order for your student to participate in upcoming field trips. Please take a moment to fill out and return the form as soon as possible to avoid any delays. Thank you for your prompt attention to this.

Return Yard Signs: Please return your “St. John School Welcomes You” yard sign to the school or parish office. Thank you for helping us save costs on future yard sign orders.

Reminders

RaiseRight Gift Card Fundraising: Purchasing gift cards (i.e. scrip) through the RaiseRight app or website at places like Kwik Trip, Festival, Walmart, Marcus Theaters and Home Depot earns you a rebate that can be applied toward tuition. Create an account by emailing scrip@stjn.org.

Uniforms & Spirit Wear: Uniform & Spirit Wear Store orders will be placed the first Friday of each month and will be ready for pickup at the school office two weeks after the closing date. Orders placed by Aug. 7 will be available for pickup at the Open House.
