Meet Ashley Duggan — 3rd Grade Teacher
Why I love St. John School?
St. John’s is a place where I know the staff is my family and will strongly support me in my endeavors, classroom and any challenges that come my way. The families in this school are strongly included! I’ve made strong friendships that I don’t think I could make anywhere else. Again, the support from the families is irreplaceable for me and all my kiddos. The year my husband was deployed with the military was an extremely tough year on my family, but St. John’s made sure we got quality family time before he left and checked in on me regularly while he was gone. The parents also stepped in and provided me and my family with meals and continually offered any help I would be willing to accept. This place is irreplaceable and a place I have fallen absolutely in love with. People are free to be themselves here, both teachers and students.
My favorite part of teaching?
The rapport I build with my students every day and watching them being able to apply what they are learning in real life situations. I love being real with my kids and trying to “teach like a pirate” to help them see content outside the box!
What I like to do outside of school?
I enjoy being a mommy to Koda and Elsa. My husband, kids and I enjoy being outside and having game nights at home. By myself, I enjoy playing tennis, going to the movies, shopping … and sleep.
