FORMED Video of the Month for April – St. John Nepomucene

“The Search Begins” is a series hosted by Chris Stefanick that asks teenagers life’s tough questions and what’s the purpose of life. It explores the person of Jesus Christ and how young people can respond to his invitation.

The Search Begins emphasizes why teens should care to ask life’s tough questions. It features teen commentary and facilitates honest conversations between teens and their youth ministers, parents, teachers and peers.

Updated Stipend and Stole Fee Structure – Effective July 1, 2024

Updated Stipend and Stole Fee Structure – Effective July 1, 2024

The Diocese of Green Bay and our parishes are grateful to all those who have generously provided a donation for Masses, funerals, weddings and Quinceaneras in the past. The donation for these sacraments and services has remained the same for over thirty years throughout the Dioceses of Wisconsin. Recently, when the Bishops of the State of Wisconsin gathered, they decreed that stipends should be adjusted to reflect the current time. The new stipend structure is as follows:

Mass Stipend — $20
      Funeral Stole Fee — $75
      Wedding & Quinceanera Stole Fee — $100

This new fee structure will become effective July 1, 2024. It will not be applied retroactively to those who have already paid the appropriate amount from the former fee scale. The new fee structure will be applied to all new requests received as of July 1, 2024. As always, if someone is not able to offer the stipend, the parish is always happy to provide the sacrament or service with no fee. Please know, too, that any stipend money collected goes to the parish in support of its ministry and services provided to the parish
community; it does not go personally to the priest.

Please contact the parish office at (929) 788-9061 if you have any questions.

Missionary Leadership Institute – Diocese of Green Bay

Missionary Leadership Institute – Diocese of Green Bay

For parish leaders, both staff and volunteers! Imagine what our communities would look like if each parish had a group of staff and parishioners formed and equipped to accompany others and serve as leaders in any ministry.

The Missionary Leadership Institute is designed for a wide variety of parish leaders to:
* discern their vocation, their particular call to holiness
* be formed as leaders who will evangelize and disciple others
* serve more effectively as lay ecclesial ministers (parish staff)

New Parish Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

New Parish Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

Thanks to all who attended our Groundbreaking Ceremony on March 17. It was a chilly, windy day, but only a few snowflakes fell as we ceremoniously dug some dirt.

A commemorative shovel is placed in the gathering space. All are welcome to sign it!

Father Ron started off the ceremony by blessing the grounds that we are building on and prayed for the safety of the people who are involved in the project. Derek Peeters, the lead architect from Hoffman as well as a life-long parish member, shared some fond memories of his childhood at St. Johns and how grateful he is for being chosen to work on this project. Deacon Dave followed by thanking all those involved and the hard work put in by dedicated parishioners and donors.

We first had our core committee who helped make this project a reality symbolically break the ground. We then asked a group of students from both our Faith Development program and St. John School to help break the ground since they will benefit just as much by having this new parish center built. We then had the Hoffman project team with parish leadership, followed by any interested parish members young and old to participate in breaking the ground. As Father Ron said, “we’re building this building not only for us, but for you, and your children, and for your grandchildren.”

March Explanation Station – St. John Nepomucene Adult Faith Formation

March Explanation Station – St. John Nepomucene Adult Faith Formation

Lent is the perfect time to practice the gift of love and form a lifelong habit. How are we doing on the following commandment of love?

When asked which commandment was the most important, Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37–39)
