St. John Nepomucene – Church Cleaning Volunteers Needed

St. John Nepomucene – Church Cleaning Volunteers Needed

St. John Nepomucene Church Cleaning occurs on the first Monday of the month (unless it falls on a holiday, then it is held on the following Monday). We are looking for more volunteers who would like to donate their time and help us clean!

You may attend the 6:45 a.m. Communion Service and then help with the cleaning afterwards or simply come at 7:30 a.m. and meet in the Gathering Space. Light cleaning is performed which consists of dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and other miscellaneous items.

Depending on how many volunteers come, cleaning usually takes about 1.5 hours or less! Help when you are able and stay as long as you are able! You will be doing a great service to your parish all while enjoying fellowship and then indulge on some great dessert bars and refreshments afterwards!

If you have any questions, please contact Amy or Betsy (contact information listed below) or you may call the parish office at (920) 788-9061 .

Opportunity for Youth to Encounter Jesus in the Mountains

Opportunity for Youth to Encounter Jesus in the Mountains

My name is Jane VandenBoogart and I am a co-founder of CLR Ministries, Inc. along with Jim VandeHey. Our mission at CLR Ministries is to inspire youth in our community by helping them grow in their personal relationship with Jesus. We achieve this mission by bringing a group of youth and young adults (high school and up) to the mountains on an eight-day retreat. Surrounded by the undeniable handiwork of God, the trip is filled with hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, daily Catholic Mass, building Christ-centered friendships, and activities geared toward growing a personal relationship with Jesus.

The 2025 retreat will take place in Wyoming at a camp near the Wyoming Catholic College which our very own Bishop David Ricken helped establish. It’s a beautiful setting in which to encounter Jesus in the mountains.

We would love to have youth/young adults from your parishes join us this year. The dates of our trip will be July 4th through July 11, 2025.

The cost per person is $1,100, which includes transportation, food, lodging, and covers the cost of the activities during the trip. There are incentives to reduce the cost – complete forms, assignments, and training on time. Also fundraising can be done by parishes to support the youth. The deadline for submitting applications is January 15, 2025.

Pope Francis on Advent

Advent,” he said, “is a moment of grace to take off our masks – every one of us has them – and line up with those who are humble, to be freed from our presumption of being self-sufficient, to go to confess our sins (the hidden ones) to welcome God’s pardon, and to ask forgiveness from those whom we have offended. This is how to begin a new life.

The ACTS Prayer Method

The acronym ACTS stands for adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication.  This model of prayer prioritizes our time with God so we first approach Him with reverence (adoration), then repent of the sin in our life (confession), then express our gratitude to Him for all He has done (thanksgiving), and finally submit to Him our requests (supplication).

A great habit to incorporate into your daily prayer life.

A great tip for building your faith is to find a good Catholic Community to join or at least a few good Catholic friends to encourage you on. We need community. It is the reason Jesus gathered His 12 Apostles together. When He sent them out, He sent them in pairs. It is not good for us to be alone, even more so as we strive to be disciples in a world that lives so contrary to the Gospel.

Find friendship here at St. John Nepomucene by seeking good Catholic friends or looking into one of our amazing ministries. There is always a place for you here!

We need to be constantly reminded that “the Church is not a man-made society of like-minded people who are trying to live Christian lives and to exert some kind of Christian influence upon the world. The Catholic Church is a community created and called by God.

Its task is evangelization and salvation: to be an instrument of God’s work in the world focused in the saving and liberating mission of Jesus Christ. It must, therefore, look to the Holy Spirit for the power to accomplish it.

The Catholic Church is the oldest and largest branch of Christianity, with roots in Rome and a history that goes back almost 2,000 years. It was the only Christian church for the first 1,000 years of Christianity, and all other Christian churches today can trace their lineage back to it.

The Catholic Church is led by the pope, who is also the Bishop of Rome, and rules from Vatican City, a separate country within Rome, Italy.
