2nd Annual Beer, Brats & Brotherhood on October 21st in Fellowship Hall at St. John Nepomucene

Please join us for our 2nd Annual Beer, Brats & Brotherhood on October 21st in Fellowship Hall at St. John Nepomucene. It is an intergenerational FREE event so all grandfathers, fathers, uncles, friends and boys (age 5 and older) are invited to come and share in the fun!

Come and hear speaker, Jim Vande Hey, as he share stories and a message about how we can incorporate faith into sports, hunting and everyday life and step it up in our faith as role models.

There will be fun activities and prizes as well! Please register by October 9th by contacting the parish office at (920) 788-9061, filling out a Google Form (click here) or by sending an email to Sarah at szteske@stjn.org.

FORMED Video of the Month for August – St. John Nepomucene

The FORMED Video of the Month is “Radiating Joy: The Michelle Duppong Story”. The Michelle Duppong story is the story of Servant of God Michelle Duppong, who bore witness to Christ through heroic suffering and a passion for inviting others to be transformed by His love.

In 2014, Michelle was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer while serving as the Director of Adult Faith Formation for the Diocese of Bismarck. Before that, Duppong had served as a FOCUS missionary for six years. She battled the disease with perseverance and a docile spirit until December 25, 2015, when she passed away at the age of 31. On November 1, 2022, Bishop David Kagan celebrated the Opening Mass for the Cause of Canonization.

Rosary Community Nights
July 9th (Patriotic Rosary) and July 23rd (Nature Rosary). Join us for an optional picnic, a living rosary with music, and many fun farm activities with a social to follow. 

Farm Days and Overnight Stays
Starting mid-July, we will be opening on Fridays and Saturdays for visitors to spend the day at the farm and  also opportunities to stay overnight in our unique sheep wagon and yurt tent.

Biking for Babies – Renewing the Culture of Life – July 12th through July 20th

Biking for Babies is an organization that seeks to renew the culture of life by 1) forming young adults into missionaries of the Gospel of life, 2) increasing awareness for pregnancy resource centers (PRCs), and 3) raising financial and spiritual support for pregnant mothers in need.

Since 2009, B4B has formed 250+ young adults in the Gospel of life, raised awareness for 150+ PRCs, and given over $2M to support families nationwide. Our missionaries go through formation from March to August, but in July, we have our National Ride, during which 9 different teams bike 600+ miles on 9 different routes across the nation to raise money and awareness for PRCs.

Each missionary, whether they are a rider or a support crew member (those who serve the riders) has a fundraising goal and is raising money themselves. Money can be donated to B4B year round, but for it to go to a specific missionary’s goal, the donations are accepted from March to August.

My name is Gretchen Ortner. I live in Appleton, but I grew up in Kaukauna and my mom is a teacher at St John’s, Lisa Ortner. I am also a Biking for Babies missionary.
