Middle School (Grades 5-8)

Grades 5 – 8 Faith Development Class Curriculum
Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe, fun place for youth to find a strong Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational and spiritual maturation of middle school youth. The resources present Catholic teaching in a way that young people can understand. Students are actively engaged in their faith using content that is relevant to teens. Creativity isn’t in short supply when it comes to our Edge Nights. Our program looks to captivate our young people with excitement, while deepening their relationship with Jesus and His Church.

Great news! Registration for our Middle School Mission Trip this Summer has been EXTENDED to April 6th!
We are excited to share an opportunity for our current 6th, 7th & 8th grade students coming up this Summer!
Love Begins Here (LBH) is a local, overnight mission trip for current 6th graders through graduating 8th graders, where they have the chance to serve in a joy filled community! With a mission of putting neighbors first & doing small things with great love, LBH is inspired by St. (Mother) Teresa of Calcutta, inviting teens to serve those in need within their Diocese.
It will be an action packed experience with activities such as serving at a food pantry, painting, or working on small service projects during the day. Paired with chances for a ton of fun with teens from all over the Diocese each evening.
Think:
Serving with purpose
Ice cream runs & fun activities
Time for prayer & reflection
Swimming, games, & lots of laughter
This is more than just a trip. It’s a chance for students to experience their faith in action, try something new, & grow in ways they may even be surprised by! If you’ve been on the fence, we would truly love to have your child be part of this week & are happy to answer any questions you may have!

XLT Nights
XLT stands for ‘exalt’ and is a powerful evening of Praise & Worship, an inspiring message & time in Eucharistic Adoration with the opportunity for Reconciliation. It is a night where we can come together to celebrate the beauty of our Catholic Faith with those beyond our own community.
St. John’s is excited to join forces with Kaukauna Catholic Parishes & surrounding Parishes for our XLT Nights – inspired by Life Teen & Edge Ministries.
All are always welcome to join!
