New Parish Center Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

🎉🙏 Thank you to everyone who attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony. As Fr. Ron, Deacon Dave and Kurt Peeters said, we are deeply grateful to all those who helped make the New Parish Center a success.

Fr. Ron asked to have some help with cutting the ribbon from “one of the oldest members” and “one of the youngest members.” Thank you Elaine Jansen, 97, and Elijah Hermus, 2, for representing St. John Nepomucene. He then invited all the children present to help with a second ribbon cutting, representing the bright future ahead of us.

We invite you to visit us and experience this wonderful space!

Opportunity for Youth to Encounter Jesus in the Mountains

Opportunity for Youth to Encounter Jesus in the Mountains

My name is Jane VandenBoogart and I am a co-founder of CLR Ministries, Inc. along with Jim VandeHey. Our mission at CLR Ministries is to inspire youth in our community by helping them grow in their personal relationship with Jesus. We achieve this mission by bringing a group of youth and young adults (high school and up) to the mountains on an eight-day retreat. Surrounded by the undeniable handiwork of God, the trip is filled with hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, daily Catholic Mass, building Christ-centered friendships, and activities geared toward growing a personal relationship with Jesus.

The 2025 retreat will take place in Wyoming at a camp near the Wyoming Catholic College which our very own Bishop David Ricken helped establish. It’s a beautiful setting in which to encounter Jesus in the mountains.

We would love to have youth/young adults from your parishes join us this year. The dates of our trip will be July 4th through July 11, 2025.

The cost per person is $1,100, which includes transportation, food, lodging, and covers the cost of the activities during the trip. There are incentives to reduce the cost – complete forms, assignments, and training on time. Also fundraising can be done by parishes to support the youth. The deadline for submitting applications is January 15, 2025.

St. John Nepomucene Parish Library – Staffing Announcement

St. John Nepomucene Parish Library – Staffing Announcement

Effective January 1st, our volunteer Library Coordinator, Mike Holzknecht, will retire after 10 years serving the parish in that capacity. At the same time, Lois Evers and Carol Wild will also retire after several years serving in their roles as Library Aides. Our parish is grateful for their contributions and assistance in maintaining this valuable resource for our parish community.

Members of the Adult Faith Formation (AFF) Committee will accept responsibility for the library. Replacing Mike will be Angela Olsen and the aides duties will be carried out by other members of the AFF.

An inventory will be conducted of all library materials in January. If you have not yet returned any materials previously checked out, please do so before then, or stop in the library to renew your checkout on the form provided above the return drop box.

A great big THANK YOU to Culver’s in Little Chute for running their “Concretes for a Cause” this past November. In 5 days, they raised $1,000 for the St. John Food Pantry!

We are very appreciative of the community’s generosity!

Pope Francis on Advent

Advent,” he said, “is a moment of grace to take off our masks – every one of us has them – and line up with those who are humble, to be freed from our presumption of being self-sufficient, to go to confess our sins (the hidden ones) to welcome God’s pardon, and to ask forgiveness from those whom we have offended. This is how to begin a new life.

Snow Shovelers Needed at St. John Nepomucene

Snow will be here if we are ready for it or not! So if you like shoveling the pretty white stuff, we are looking for individuals to help with snow removal around the facility. This will be a paid, part-time position.

If you are interested or have questions, please contact Randy at (920) 788-5951.
