Construction Corner July – New Parish Center

Construction Corner

New Parish Center Update for July

By: Deacon Dave Van Eperen

The construction site has been a busy place the past few weeks with five or six different contractors on site most days doing a variety of things.  In spite of the severe storms and heavy rains we have seen in the past month, we have not experienced any damage to the construction site nor has there been any extended setbacks due to the weather.  The steel work has been largely completed and the concrete work should be wrapped next week.  Most of the lower level interior walls have been formed up and work has shifted to the main floor.  Electrical and plumbing work is in full swing and the roof is two weeks away from completion.  As we enter into the heat of the summer, I ask that you continue to pray for the health and wellbeing of all our workers.

Rock Cancer – Join us on August 17th at Doyle Park

Rock Cancer – Join us on August 17th at Doyle Park

The Spierings Cancer Foundation’s 16th Annual Rock Cancer Event is scheduled for August 17th at Doyle Park in Little Chute starting at 1:00 p.m.!

Rock Cancer is the primary annual fundraiser for Spierings Cancer Foundation. It is a day-long celebration of life, music and fun, held on the 3rd Saturday of August each year at Doyle Park in Little Chute, WI. People of all ages come early and stay late to enjoy food, drink, games, raffles, a silent auction—and of course, plenty of music!

Funds raised during Rock Cancer provide financial support to local families affected by cancer, enhance medical care for patients in the Fox Cities and fund cancer research in Wisconsin.

Rock Cancer 15 was a HUGE SUCCESS! We are so grateful for our amazing community and the support you have shown over the years.

Our Rock Cancer Committee is the heart and soul of the event. Without this hard-working and dedicated team we would not have had this astounding success. We truly appreciate them. Learn more about the committee.

Together as a community, we have raised over 2 MILLION dollars to support the Spierings Cancer Foundation’s mission.

Here are some interesting facts about the Catholic Church:

* It’s almost 2,000 years old, making it the oldest institution in the Western world!

* Saint Peter’s Basilica is built on the tomb of Saint Peter, which was discovered during renovations.

* In the United States, Catholic hospitals employ almost 750,000 people, and one in six patients are treated in a Catholic hospital.
