SPIRITUS Ministries is currently recruiting young adults to serve next year as missionaries leading retreats and igniting our Catholic faith students in grades 2–12. 

Are you in your twenties and looking for a meaningful next step? SPIRITUS is inviting young adults to serve as missionaries leading Catholic youth retreats with no fundraising obligations. The Fisherman’s Ring

Did you know that each pope wears a custom ring engraved with his name? The ring, called The Fisherman’s Ring, depicts Saint Peter in a boat, a reference to his role as a fisher of men. The tradition of destroying the ring after each pope’s death was changed in 2013 when Pope Benedict XVI resigned. Instead of being destroyed, a deep cross was carved into his ring so it could no longer be used.

Interested in becoming Catholic or learning more about the Catholic faith?

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) (formerly known as RCIA) is the process by which the Catholic Church welcomes new members into its midst or completes the process of Christian initiation. This process involves receiving 1 or all 3 sacraments of initiation which include Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.

During the process of initiation, a person grows in knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Church, explores the meaning of the Scriptures for daily life, develops friendships with members of the parish community, learns to pray and worship in the Catholic tradition and discovers the joy of serving others.

If you are interested in learning more about this process or the Catholic faith, please contact the parish office at (920) 788-9061 and ask for Deacon Dave Van Eperen and he will provide you with more more information. Holy Land Presentation at St. John Nepomucene – October 3rd

George Zambil, a Catholic pilgrimage guide from Jerusalem, will be hosting a ‘must-see’ presentation on the Holy Land at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 3rd in Fellowship Hall.  All are welcome!

George is a licensed guide who leads pilgrimages throughout Israel and the Holy Land. Due to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel, virtually all pilgrimages since October, 2023 were cancelled, resulting in a great hardship for people who rely on pilgrims for their income.  George, along with Shadi Mansour (a fellow pilgrimage guide) will be visiting our parish to share their insights on various holy sites following the footsteps of Jesus.  They will also be selling art, jewelry, rosaries, and other artifacts from the Holy Land after all the weekend Masses of October 4th and October 5th.

The evening begins with Mass at 4:00 pm at St. Mary, Menasha, followed by the gala at 5:15 pm at the Bridgewood Resort featuring dinner, auctions, games, and $5,000 in cash prizes.
